College Graduation Layout

Happy Sunday Everyone!  Today I'm up with a layout that I am using to enter the December Sketchy Saturday over at Paper Issues.  I took their sketch, but used it "backwards".  My title is where their photos are and my photos are where their blocks of paper should be.  Check the link out and you'll definitely be able to tell how I was inspired.
The paper and embellishments all come from the August 2015 creative kit over at My Creative Scrapbook. The papers are from the Fancy Pants Summer Sun Collection, as is the flair and my title.  My title is a project life card that I trimmed to fit the space.
Hope you enjoyed what I created.  I'm signing off now to do the grocery shopping and hopefully get some scrappy time in after that.

Noel Tree Layout

I figured with the holidays coming up I'd continue to share with you some of the holiday kits I got used up.  These kits are from Scrapbook Generation and are a year old.    I thought that even though they used a retired paper line the design could be adapted to fit any paper line, and even any season.
Are you working on getting caught up with your old photos?  I recently went through all the layouts I had done, but not in books and sorted them by year.  I then started with the oldest year and printed all the photos I needed to finish the year.  This was photos from one of those printing sessions.

Soccer Friends

Morning Everyone!  In one of Facebook groups our challenge for December was to use a sunburst design, or paper, on your layout.  It's not something I'd normally use so it was quite a challenge for me.  I actually had to ask a friend how she completed her sunburst.  She used scrap paper to make a template, but with having our son and working I needed something quicker.  I found this you tube tutorial and it was done in no time!
For my sunburst effect I used the Carta Bella Boy Oh Boy line. I didn't want to use all patterned paper because it looked so busy.  What I did was take a matching color and emboss and arrow pattern, from Heidi Swapp, in clear powder.  I gave the paper a little something, but not too much.
The background paper is from an old Studio Calico kit.  The title actually came from our son.  As I was working on the page he came over to see how it was going, saw the pictures and said..."Look, my soccer friends."
Hope you enjoyed the layout, and have a great weekend.

Kiss Kiss

I originally printed this photo for my 2014 December daily, but decided to make it it's own layout because of the story behind it.  I've obviously been holding onto it for some time, but I needed to have the perfect paper, since most of my sash is boy themed, and a great sketch.  That finally happened when I received my October creative kit from My Creative Scrapbook and say the November week 2 sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy.
The papers are from the Echo Park Story of Our Family Collection that came in the kit. I added some modeling paste mixed with Heidi Shine, and put through a Heidi Swapp stencil as well.  The title is an old pack of Thickers that I've had for ages.
Now for the story behind the layout.  Last year our son, who was four at the time, started getting camera obsessed.  Rather than be in the pictures he always wanted to take them.  While I was taking pictures of us putting up the Christmas tree he asked if he could take some.  With digital pictures I figured it didn't hurt to say yes.  He says...I want to take a picture of you and Daddy kissing...umm ok...I figured we'd end up with chopped off heads to be out of focus - etc.  Nope - he got a perfect shot.  I know adults who have had trouble getting us in the same photo since there is a foot difference between us!  Needless to say...a camera was on his Christmas list last year!

Walk With Me Daddy

Happy Veterans Day Friends!  Today I'm sharing a layout I completed with the sketch from My Creative Sketches.  They are the challenge blog for the My Creative Scrapbook kits I receive.
This layout was a bit different for me, not only because it included circles, but because of the very toned down color palette. I really wanted to have the photo be the focus...more than usual anyway...so I stuck with grey and a light aqua.
The paper are from a Studio Calico kit from almost two years ago.  The grid paper was perfect for the large amount of journalling I wanted to do on this photo.  The title is a combination of thickers and Jillibean Soup mini alphas.  The little man flair is from A Flair For Buttons on Etsy.
Hope you enjoyed and leave me a link below if you used this sketch so I can check out what you created!

Most Wonderful Time Of the Year Layout

Back with another layout using my Scrapbook Generation Kits.  I have gotten through at least four different kits from them this month so watch for more layouts featuring those.  I'll warn you three of the four are Christmas layouts!  This one features Simple Stories DIY Christmas again, and there are only four strips of patterned paper on there...the rest are cut parts and die cuts.  So little paper...such a nice result.  Thanks of joining me!

It Wasn't Me Mom

I've been a busy girl this month!  I don't really ever get a page done this quickly, but I was looking for something to work on yesterday and the sketch at Let's Capture our Memories was just perfect.   When I saw it I new exactly what pictures I wanted to use, but I wasn't sure about paper, and usually it take me forever to decide.  This one...I pulled out my Echo Park All About A Boy Scraps and it was done in less than an hour.  I really should have filmed a video it was so fast.
Since I didn't get my journalling on yet I can tell you that one Sunday my hubby was at church already since he was playing for service...I had gotten M ready and turned on a show so I could get in the shower.  When I came out the entire container of baby powder was EVERYWHERE!  I really had to laugh because my little sister did the same thing when when she was about the same age.
