Adeline Grace | Stuck ? Sketches | Echo Park

Hey friends!  Happy black Friday.  Are you out shopping early this am?  Hubby has to work so even if I wanted to it just wouldn't work for our family.  Instead I'm here to share a layout with you.
I created this layout of my newborn niece using the November 15th sketch over at Stuck ? Sketches. If you've followed me for any amount of time you know I love their challenges.
I'll admit when my sister-in-law gave me Adeline's photo I panicked a bit...purple...I don't own anything purple, but I think I made it work with the pink I have well.
The base cardstock is purple and then I used a brown piece of patterned paper that when matched with the rusts/purple of Adeline's wrap.  The pink piece that is under the journalling card is a frame that I cut into two pieces.  This way it adds dimension and interest.  The rest of the pieces are various papers and stickers from the Echo Park Bundle Of Joy Collection.

Since the paper collection didn't have any purple in it I had to tie it all together somehow.  I choose to cover the two pink flowers on the journalling card with purple sparkle ones from Hobby Lobby.  They also had a tiny wooden bead in the center so they add a textural/dimensional element as well.
For being panicked about purple I'm really happy with how this came out, and I hope my sister-in-law loves it too. If you are looking for other newborn ideas please check out my Hello Baby layout! Until next time...stay crafty!

Camp Out Fun | Echo Park | CSI

Hey crafty friends!  I'm glad to be joining with you today with a layout I created for the November 1st challenge over at CSI, Color Stories Inspiration.  The first challenge of the month has a sketch component as well as the case file.  Here's my take on the challenge.
For the color portion of the challenge I used the brown on my background.  The crimson and yellow are rather obvious, but then we reach the two grey components.  I struggles to get those two shades appropriately incorporated.  The plan gray is what I inked the edges of the spotted paper and the dog element with.  The darker grey are in my tag at the top and my wood dots are dark grey.
For the evidence I have four (instead of the required three) items included.  The blue paper behind my photos is striped and is part of the Echo Park Pinstripes and Petticoats collection. I then used a dog in the middle for the animal component.  The woodgrain tag at the top, wood dots, wood arrows and stars near the journalling complete my evidence.

To round out my page we come to the testimony part.  I did two of the items...stars near my journalling prompt and the inspiration wood of outside for the entire layout.
I hope you enjoy what I've created today and will go over and check the challenge out.  Until next time...stay crafty!

Young at Heart | Felicity Jane

Hey crafty friends!  As usual I'm here with another layout for you today.  I am trying to kill my Felicity Jane Willow kit, and this one was a scrap lift from the Felicity Jane blog as I tried to use the pieces I had left.  Obviously I made changes to make it my own.
One of the ways I made it my own were to use black accents to make it more masculine.  I used stamps from several different kits.  One is under the 3x4 card near the photo, and the other is in the top and bottom right corners in black.

I also placed my clusters and journalling in different areas then the original.  The original had clusters on the top in the middle and right under the card cluster.  Their journalling was then under the photo.
I always say...you can scrap lift and still make it your own.  Tell me...what are your go to things to change when you scrap lift someone?
Okay - as usual I have to run and take care of the kiddos...nap time goes so quickly.  Until next time...stay crafty!

So Big | Felicity Jane Willow

Hey Crafty Friends!  I have a quick post today, have a pounding headache, of a layout I got finished this week.  I started with the sketch from GrandDiva's Creative Corner and the word art challenge at Rochelle Spears blog.
For the word art challenge my inspiration words were family, thankful and blessings.   I am blessed by this little girl daily and thankful for the time I'm getting to spend home with her.  The photos are the first I took that I looked at her and went...she's not a baby anymore :-(
The papers and embellishments on this layout came from the Felicity Jane Willow kit.  I'm really trying to get that one killed this month.  You'll see where I have two pieces of white cardstock...I tried adding mist and hated it.  I had used liquid adhesive on my other papers so my undu wasn't working so that was my solution.
Okay - I'm off to lay down.  Until next time...stay crafty!

1st Fluff | Hip Kit Club | Felicity Jane

Hey crafty friends!  How is your November going so far?  I have gotten a few things done so far including this layout of our daughter.
My husband came home from hunting early allowing to go to a non-profit cafe that is only open during the week.  Cafe Vida has really tasty breakfast and lunch.  Since we didn't think Julia would eat what we each were having we purchased here a peanut butter and fluff sandwich.  To say it was a hit is an understatement!
I don't usually get to scrap photos the day they happened, but when I saw the weekly sketch over at the Hip Kit Club Forum I knew I needed to get right to work.
I used the Felicity Jane Willow kit because the colors were soft enough for a little girl, but still enough for her animal shirt.  I also loved the opportunity to use the girl die-cut as I don't often has pictures of just her or I.
Can we also talk about how perfect the #allthefood stamp was for this layout!  The stamp was from the June Summer kit.  As I've mentioned before I haven't been big into stamping on my layouts, but these sets have just the right sentiments and are just the right size.  I can usually find just the right one for my page.
Okay - off to create more.  Until next time...stay crafty!

Explore| Felicity Jane | Stinkin Inkers | ScraPerfect

Hey everyone!  I'm here today with a double header.  It is my first project for my new team called Stinkin' Inkers, and also uses products from my other team, ScraPerfect.
The challenge this month at Stinkin' Inkers is to create a project surrounding being thankful.  This is a photo I took at the beach less than three months after our daughter was born.  I am thankful that I got to spend the last few days of my maternity leave making memories with my parents and kiddos (hubby couldn't stay as long as we did).

You can see that several of my embellishments on this page are dimensional.  The flair, enamel dots and chipboard.  I attached all of these using my glue of choice...The Best Glue Ever.  If you haven't seen my video about the strength of this glue please head over to my youtube channel.  It really is great.

The products on this layout are from the Felicity Jane Summer kit.  This is the last layout from that kit that I'll be sharing.  I got eight from the kit in total.  Until next time...stay crafty!

Autumn | Challenge Yourself | Hip Kit Club

Afternoon crafty friends!  I'm sharing a layout today that was inspired by two different challenges.  I wanted to use the mood board at Challenge Yourself and the weekly sketch on the Hip Kit Club Facebook forum.
Both of these challenges were perfect to get some of the photos from our recent apple picking trip done.  I took these selfies with each of my kiddos because getting them both to sit still for one together is almost impossible

The products on this page came from an old My Creative Scrapbook kit...Fall 2015 to be exact :-(  The papers included in the clip were from Echo Park's The Story Of Fall and the chipboard was from Carta Bella's A Perfect Autumn.
I really like the dimensional interest using some flat stickers and some chipboard gives the page. I used a white pen for my journalling since my favorite black sharpie didn't really show up.  Do you have a favorite white pen as I'm not sold on the one I have?
Okay - enough chatting for today...back to creating.  Stay crafty!!
