So when I saw the Etch-A-Sketch challenge over at the Child's Play blog my first thought was that I was out for this round. The only thing I could ever draw was a house. My mom dropped off a picture of her house a few days later for our son's album since he asks every day to visit Grandma, and I was ready to go! I ended up doing the layout for me though as the more I looked at it I kept thinking that no matter how old I get or where I go....my parents will always feel like home.
I think it took longer to get a half decent photo of my layout than it did to complete it! The papers, stickers, and titles are from the April 2014 Studio Calico scrapbook kit Bluegrass farms. The little orange bag that is holding my journalling is from the Fancy Pants Be Different collection. The flair is by Janna Werner, and the washi is from my stash. I combined more products than I realized!
I also loved the May 15th sketch at Sketch~N~Scrap, and used that for the my design. They have such great inspiration month after month!

Celebrate Card
The Crafting With Dragonflies blog is celebrating their first birthday, and having a celebrate card challenge.
I chose to make this card with this Close To My Heart sentiment because it's cute, but also generic enough that I could use it for many different occasion rather than just one.
I started with a Doodlebug Designs card base and inked the edges in a slightly lighter green. Added some co-ordinating wash tape, and the cut out with stamped sentiment. The green gem is from Queen & Co. Easy and quick, but very cute too.
I also want to enter this card in the Sister Act Card Challenge: Anything goes. Make sure to check them out often as they have really cool card challenges.
Until next time....Keep on creating!

Dots and Spots Layout
Time for another reveal with Team Trace over at Southern Girls Challenge. The challenge this time is to use dots and spots.
I created these on my layout in groups around the corners where my photos met the middle of my layout. To do this I used a variety of things so that their would be all different heights and textures. There are buttons, brads, enamel dots, pearl pens, stickles and drops of color shine.
The photos I chose were of our little one falling asleep in various places during our first vacation. He was/is a horrible sleeper, but on vacation he never slept so well!
I hope you enjoyed the layout, and that you'll come link up with us over at the challenge. We can't wait to see what dots and spots you come up with!

Scrapstuffz April Sands of Time Reveal
Scrapstuffz is teaming with Child's Play Challenge this month, and we're doing a sketch (by Laura Whitaker) and a picture challenge.
It took me a really long time to get my mojo on the sand art picture from Child's Play Challenge. I thought of beach right away, but just finished our beach pictures last month. Then I thought about doing just the colors, but I really wanted more than that. As I thought and thought on it I kept coming back to the sand of time as a page theme. It finally hit me to do something of my hubby and I now (11 years later) than all the old pictures I tend to work on. We've stuck together through the sands of time.
I also used the sand thought to create layers like the different color sands. Each paper layer is on pop dots so there is a lot of height to the layout.
I also used my favorite color (green) on this layout in order to enter Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog. Not only did it meet the challenge, but since the picture was taken outside green worked in that regard as well.
I'm also still undecided on if I need a title or if I'll leave it as is. Thoughts on that?
I hope you'll join us. Since it's a collaborative month one layout gets you an entry to both challenges!
