Practical Scrappers - July Blog Hop
Welcome to my first, of hopefully many, submission in the monthly Practical Scrappers Scrap Our Stash blog hop. You should have arrived here from Majken's blog.
This go around we had a theme of using either Christmas or Winter. Since I had already done a Christmas item this week I went with a winter theme. The papers are from the 6x6 pad of Carta Bella's Winter Fun collection. I love how this has traditional winter elements, but in creative reds and teals. The sticker is from Authentique's Glistening collection, and lastly the sequins are from Doodlebug.
To give my snowflake a little something extra without loosing the cards clean and simple feel. I went over it with a clear Wink of Stella pen. It gives it a subtle shimmer without being over the top.
Now for the extra fun part...blog candy. I have a 6x6 Lawn Fawn paper pad to give away to a US based fan, and maybe a few other goodies too. To be entered to win you must leave me a comment on this page, follow me on Bloglovin and my Facebook page. Links for both are on the right side of my blog.
Up next please head over to Jennifer's page, and until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Southern Girls Challenge - Christmas in July
What I ended up creating was a mini accordion album. I created a pocket on each page and put a large tag in. The pocket will be labeled with each of my family members names. The tag can then serve as a place for shopping ideas. The patterned paper is also only glued down on three sides so receipts can be slid into the top of each page for that person. You could make this as large as needed, but just adding another set of accordion pages.
I hope that my creation inspired you to join our challenge, and until next time...keep scrapping!

Child's Play Challenge - Cootie Layout
Time for another fun reveal over at Child's Play Challenge. Our challenge this time is the game Cooties. Our son had received this game at this last birthday, and I knew I had some photos of the first time we played on my phone. They aren't the greatest since it was night time and impromptu photos, but they were perfect for this challenge, and a fun memory. I used a sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap and flipped it on it's side to accommodate the portrait orientation of my photos. I went with space themed items since I figured Cooties can't be from Earth. If you've never played the game they are these silly bug type creatures with funny eye, strange attentions and a million legs. My thought on the sequins is they would mimic the stars in space. Almost all the supplies on this page are from Supplies by Scrapstuffz on Facebook...check her page out for great deals!
I hope you find my layout fun and inspiring, and I hope you'll pop over and join us for either July challenge. Until next time...keep scrapping!

Studio Calico Layout For SSIB
It's my reveal day over at ScrapStuffz "Inspired By", and I have a fun one today. This was my first time using modeling paste. I've used it on several layouts since as I've had this one done for awhile.
I also used my Studio Calico kit Bluegrass Farms as the blue went perfectly with out inspiration photo. The wave my photos are anchored on is a card set from Kiwi Lane that I just traced and them placed where I like it to continue and traced again to make one continuous piece. My photo layout came from the size and placement of the birds versus the feeder. Loads of inspiration all around in the photo.
Will you be joining us this month...I'd love to see what inspired you. Until next time...Keep scrappin!

Child's Play Challenge Reveal
Hi Everyone, and welcome to my first DT reveal for Child's Play Challenges. I loved participating here, and am honored to have been chosen to be on the team.
My first assignment was Colorforms. I don't remember having these as a child so I had to go another direction.
The original toy was just shapes in red and blue. Since we are revealing two days before Fourth of July I went that direction and then used blocks of paper to mimic the squares in the toy after I saw this awesome sketch from Creative Scrappers. I left the photo and journalling spot blank because my Dad's birthday is Fourth of July so this page is all ready for a photo of him and our little man, and some journalling of what we did that day.
All the papers are from Doodlebug Designs. The stars are modeling paste mixed with pearl medium and then topped with crystal glitter...it gives a really nice depth to the page.
I hope to see you enter our challenges - they are so fun. Until next time...Keep scrappin!

Studio Calcio You and Me Layout
I have really been challenging myself to use my Studio Calico kits, even though they haven't been my normal style. This was the Camelot kit from I believe June. Except for the names I ended up really loving how this came out. I loved up right up until I added my handwriting...anyone else have that problem?
Since I was outside my comfort zone I went searching all over for inspiration and man did I find it. Sketch #75 over at Let's Capture Our Memories was my main starting point. Laura Whitaker really hit it out of the park for me on this one. I loved how simple it was and the doily...was just calling my name. I took a plain white doily and misted it with Tattered Angels spray.
I was also inspired by the Challenge Yourself blog idea of having yourself in the photo with one of the men in your life. I am rarely in our pictures so I love the idea of this blog.
I also want to enter this into Crafty Girl's Challenge - Anything goes. I appreciate finding new places to show off my creations.
So what have you been working on? Until next time - keep scrappin!
