Ray of Sunshine Layout

If you are looking for the Get Inky Hop - Please click HERE

I had some fun pictures of our son playing at the beach...well as much playing as a nine month old does, but I was stuck on how to use them.  I then came across the Child's Play Monopoly challenge, and the arrow on the go tile of the board hit me.  I was going to use arrows since in the pictures he's upside down and sideways!
I also wanted to use the new Inspired By challenge over at Sketch ~ N ~ Scrap.  It was an awesome sketch!

The sketch only used one photo, but I wanted to use three so I grouped them all very closesly to achieve the same effect.  I also used my arrow strip to mimic the strip in the sketch, but also to place the round area at the corner of the photo just like the sketch embellishment. Some misting and enamel dots completed my sketch "copying".
If I was to do the layout again I think I would emboss the red paper (which is actually a red and brown tiny chevron) with swiss dots to match the outter dotted paper.  All in all I'm pretty pleased with how it came out.

Get Inky! Farewell & Welcome Blog Hop

Hi, and welcome to the Get Inky! Farewell & Welcome Blog Hop.  You should have arrived here from La-Vie's blog.  If you happened to have stumbled into the hop mid-way be sure to start at the Get Inky! Challenge Blog for a chance to win a fun prize.
The blog hop is saying goodbye to our old team members, and welcoming our new.  I was a guest designer last time, and am a part-time design team member this go around.  I am happy to be included again as Get Inky! makes a quality stamp, and all the girls are a blast to work with.
For my project I choose to use the cricut cartridge A Child's Year.  I cut out a fairy and then replaced her wand with a flower. After she was glued down I used stickler and glitter for her wings.
The flowers, and butterflies, are stamped with Blue Moon Creation's build a flower that is part of the Love Bugs set.  The pink and purple flowers were colored with a blender pen and my stamp pads.  The green and yellow are wink of stella pens.  They give a slight sheen/glitter, but not a whole lot…hence wink I guess.
Now for the fun part.  Leave a comment on each blog along the way and you'll be entered to win:
* one of three one-year Inky Moonbeam memberships
* one Crafty Card Gallery app donated from Jennifer Restivo
To see what the club is all about, visit

I will also be offering a prize!  If you leave a comment, and follow my blog, you'll be entered to win the card I created as well as a 6x6 paper pad to help you create some cool things! If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, and leave another comment for each, you'll receive an extra entry. The links to where else you can find me are in the upper right corner of my blog.
I'm so glad you stopped by and look forward to inspiring you further.  Now off you to go to Susan B to check our what she created.

Sketch ~ N ~ Scrap Birthday Card

I have several things I want to work at this year in my crafting.  One is to make birthday cards, rather than buy, and another is to enter more sketch challenges.  I saw this sketch over at Sketch~N~Scrap and fell in with it.

I started searching for my favorite winter scraps, and as I was sorting through I saw my few flower paper items and they called to me.  My SIL's birthday is next month and I thought they would be perfect for a card for her. I think it came out really cute, and I could see using this sketch again and again.

Get Inky Challenge 20: Snow

It's time for the last 2013 Get Inky Stamps by Blue Moon Creations inspiration post.  Their final  challenge of the year is one of my favorite things…SNOW!
I used the 2013 Holiday set, but used two different sayings to create my greeting.  I used Snowmany Thanks and Seasons greetings to come up with Snow Greetings.  I accomplished this by using wash tape to cover the part of the saying I didn't want…leaving just what I did.  A few snow flakes and some glitter and the cute card was done.
I have very much enjoyed my time with Get Inky, and seeing what each of you have created.  I wish you all a happy 2014!  I hope you'll stay with me to see what I create in the new year.

2nd December ScrapStuffz Inspired By Challenge

Welcome back everyone!  We're having two reveals over at ScrapStuffz this month, and it's time for my second.  Remember, you can use one, or both, to do entries this month!
I was instantly inspired by the two trees, and I used two pictures of our Christmas tree from 2012.  One is of hubby and son while we hunted one down, and the other is it all decorated. After that I wanted to mimic the different picture boxes by using different papers…something I really struggle with.  I am always afraid of the patterns being two busy, but I ended up loving the effect.
The title was cut from several different Cricut cartridges.  The wreath for the O was inspired by the wreathes in the inspiration photo.  The letters were welding in the Cricut Craft Room, and the tree was topped with some red stickles.
I hope you'll come over and join us!

Blast Off Thank You Card

Hi everyone…I'm back today to share with you the thank you cards I made for our little ones third birthday.  We had a Buzz Light year birthday so I wanted to do something space related.  My new Stampin' Up Blast Off set ended up being the perfect thing!

I really like how this came out.  The space ship is popped up from his passenger really giving the card some depth.  The thank you is flair that I made using my epiphany crafts circle machine.  I have to say I think that's my favorite tool right now!  The only thing I wanted to do differently was put a picture of each child who attended as the passenger, but I couldn't get the size just right.
As much as I love the card...if I ever say I'm going to make all my birthday thank you's again…you have permission to smack me!
