Love Wedding Layout

Hi All - back today with another layout for a challenge blog.  This sketch came from ScrapMuch!? and I used the colors from their color challenge.  You had to use four and my choices were Lipstick Red, Sweat Pea, Sea Aqua and Grey Plank.
All the paper came from the February Creative Kit that I received from My Creative Scrapbook.  You can see everything I received in my youtube video.  All the papers are from Doodlebug with a random washi thrown in here and there.  While this isn't my normal style I was pleased with how it came out.
Thanks for joining me today, and stay tuned for some new news and blog hops in the next few weeks.

It's A Party Layout

Time for another layout - I'm on a roll this week!  I can't believe how quickly this one came together using the sketch from ScrapMuch? Seriously...it was done in under 20 minutes, and I'm usually one that agonizes over where I place everything.
The collection I used was Be Different by Fancy Pants.  It was perfect for the sketch and the subject of my photos.  This was our son, and my nephew, at my aunts surprise wedding last June.  She told us it was a retirement party, but some of us guessed better :-)  The journalling is hidden on the tab that says cousins...pull it up and voila!

Boo Boo Layout

I'm up today with a another reveal for ScrapMuch!?  I'm much for pleased with how this one came out than the last!
I don't normally scrapbook the non-perfect photos, but this memory had to be captured.  Our son was goofing around in the tub sliding on his bottom and in the time I took for us to say stop he knocked his head on the side...split this eye lid right open.  I actually thought he'd have to get stitches :-(  He thankfully just ended up with a black eye for a few days...over our vacation.  We got lots of strange looks that year.
Except for my Heidi Swapp roller stamp and thickers...everything came from the Fancy Pants Be Different Collection.  This is an older collection, but most of it can still be purchased online.  I had the 6x6 pad and some embellishments, but picked up the 12x12 paper and more embellishments at the recent expo I attended.
Have you attended an expo recently?  I'd love to see what you created with your purchases and/or what you created with this reveals sketch.  Also, before you go please join my blog...there are lots of different ways to be notified when I post new layouts.  Thank you!

Hello Summer

Hi all!  Can you believe it's time for another reveal day at ScrapMuch!? This was a really hard sketch for me as I don't use a lot of circles.  I tried to embrace it and here's what I came up with.
The papers and stickers are from the July Creative Kit over at My Creative Scrapbook.  The ones I used are all from Pebbles and Doodlebug.  The sunburst on my page was a file I purchased from the Silhouette store.  It was meant to be a 12x12 cut out for a background.  I shrunk it down and cut it out of transparency film...voila..a stencil for my Heidi Swapp spray.
So how do you think it came out!?  I'd love to hear your comments.  I'd also love if you play along that you'd leave me a link in the comments so I can leave you some love too!

Sand In My Toes

Welcome to another reveal for ScrapMuch!?  The lovely sketch from Laura Whitaker that we had to work with is...

For my layout I used a bunch of supplies from the July Creative Kit that I subscribe too through My Creative Scrapbook.  The green paper behind my photos, and the banner paper with the summer icons on it are both from Doodlebug's Sun Kissed Collection. The stickers are from Pebbles Fun In the Sun.    The water splashes in the left corner are modeling paste, mixed with acrylic paint and put through a stencil.  I really wanted to make splashes around the page, but with how sense the stencil was it just kept getting all smooshy so I started over.
I feel like I struggle in general with very bright colors, but I really like how this one came out, and I hope you agree!

Love You Layout!

Oh my gosh guys - I have been so busy that I've been neglecting my blog :-(  I'm finally back today though with a new sketch from ScrapMuch!?
You can see how I left the circle out and changed the orientation of my photos, but otherwise left the sketch alone.  I used the Bella Blvd Hello Autumn collection for all my accent papers, and the wood grain is from Studio Calico.  The orange leaves and green branches are modeling paste mixed with acrylic paint. Some Doodlebug Fall enamel dots, Thickers and I was good to go.

So Handsome Layout

Every time Laura releases a new sketch to us I'm just so excited to get started...this assignment for ScrapMuch!? was no different.  Doesn't this sketch leave so much room for some fun things!?

I knew exactly what photo I wanted to use when I saw this....our son's four year old photo shoot.  This had to be some of the easiest photos we have ever had taken.  We walked into the portrait studio and were out in three minutes...literally...he smiled and did exactly what she said and we had awesome photos to choose from!
I used mainly the Echo Park Jack & Jill collection for this.  The blue and orange was perfect to match our son's outfit and the feel of the wood background.  The fair is from A Flair For Buttons on Etsy.  If you haven't checked Shelley's shop out you really need too.  The orange dot washi is from Queen & Co and the orange cross hatch washi is from Freckled Fawn.  I think that Freckled Fawn washi has been on almost every layout I've done since it was received...I just love it!
I also created a process video on this layout.  It can be found on my youtube channel...here.  I'd love to know your thoughts on the video!
Well - enough yacking from me for now :-)  Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

#Bier Layout

I'm back today with more pictures from our Munich honeymoon using a sketch from ScrapMuch!? These photos are from a Beer Garden we stumbled upon not far from our hotel that was so good we ended up there most nights.  I couldn't get over the size of the beers they served.  My favorite drink ended up being Radler...a mix of light beer and lemonade.  It sounds gross, but was so refreshing at it was beyond hot the week we were there.
The beer paper has been in my stash since we got back from the trip...ten years ago.  The brown accents are from Close To My Heart and I received them during my  stay on the Paper Crafter Anonymous design team.  The title was cut from my Silhouette with a free font I had on my computer. And before you ask...yes that is a coaster from the restaurant.
Short and sweet today.  Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Bottle Cap Embellishment Tutorial

Hi Everyone!  Lyne here with a bottle cap embellishment tutorial for ScrapMuch!?  I'll be showing you how to create the cap I used on my Cool Kid layout.   Here's a close up...

For this you will need some bottle caps, a manual die cut machine, liquid adhesive, a 1 inch circle punch and some epiphany crafts epoxy stickers in size 14.

To get started set your die cut machine up with platform one.

Place your clear cutting pad down, then the bottle cap facing down, and the top clear plate.

Once you run it through the machine you'll end up with something like this:

I do find that the cap you use does make a difference.  I found some at hobby lobby that were on clearance with a soda design on the back.  They don't work so well as they tend to flatten too much, but the Spare Parts caps work perfectly.
Now use your circle punch to punch out the design you are looking to make into an embellishment.

Place some strong liquid glue on the cap and then place your circle punch on top.  Allow to dry for a few seconds.

Lastly, apply your epoxy cap and you're ready to use

You can also do this, but use the back of the cap instead.

I did this on my Scrappy Friends layout.  This one I had a hard time getting a good photo of, but if you go check out the layout it's on the right hand side at the top.

I hope you've learned something new today, and I'd love to see what you create using this technique.  Until next time...Happy Scrapping!

Zoo Fun Layout

Can we start this post with looking at just how small our little man was!  This was his first trip to the zoo at right about 18 months.  We treated my Dad with a trip to the Philadelphia Zoo for Father's Day.
I used the newest sketch from ScrapMuch!? for my page.  It obviously doesn't follow it to the letter, but even when I start out saying I will follow it to the letter it rarely ends up that way.  I kept the strip at the top in addition to the layers behind the photo, but changed it to one large horizontal photo instead of a medium vertical one.  I always struggle with large photos, but was happy with how this came out.
The paper is from Stampin' Up several years ago...before the catalog changed styles.   Some Thickers and monkey die cuts from a zoo swap I did a few months ago and the page was done.
So...I want to see what you do with the sketch.  If you participate make sure to link here so I can leave you a comment.  Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Trucks Rule Layout

It's time for another ScrapMuch!? reveal with what I promise is the last of the monster truck pictures. I'll admit when I first saw the sketch I was a bit stumped as circles and brackets aren't my forte, but that is what's awesome about sketches...you can interpret them in your own style.
I used the June creative kit from My Creative Scrapbook that contained a ton of the Bella Blvd Color Chaos collection.  I kept the embellishment clusters in the same place as the sketch..dropped the bracket and turned the two photos into four.  The enamel dots are from Doodlebug and the title in from the Freckled Fawn April kit.  The word stickers from Bella Blvd I edged in Copic markers that matched the other colors I was using.     Despite my changes I think you can still see the sketch in my layout.  What do you think?  Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Happy 3rd Birthday

If you're looking for the Scrap Our Stash Blog Hop please scroll down to the next post or click HERE

I'm up today with another reveal for the ScrapMuch? design team using a fabulous sketch from Laura Whitaker. This time I turned the sketch sideways to fit this adorable photo of my nephew when he turned three last month.

Since the photo didn't have a lot of obviously colors I had some trouble choosing a color palette, but once I got rocking it went very smoothly.  The paper is an Echo Park collection called That's My Boy.  The title, washi, and flair badge are both from my Freckled Fawn subscription kit...totally still in love with that subscription.  Seriously, you need to check it out.
So what do you think of this weeks sketch, and my take on it...would love to hear your comments.  Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Big Layout

So last week I showed you the right hand side of my two page Big Helper layout, and now it's time to share the left hand side.  I created both of these using a single page sketch from Laura Whitaker and ScrapMuch?
In case you missed last weeks reveal.  I took an old Scrapbook Generation kit and re-purposes the paper.  I loved the paper, but knew I wouldn't use it with the sketch they provided.  I'm determined to use some of my old items though so voila.
So even though they are two single page sketches do you think they work together as a double page?  I'd love to hear your thoughts, and until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Helper Layout

Welcome to another sketch reveal for the ScrapMuch? team.  I am finding Laura's sketches so inspiring that for the first time in a long time it's easy to get my design team assignments done! Today's sketch was no different.  I used this week's sketch to create the right hand side of a two page layout about our son helping Daddy in the garden when he was only about two.
I used papers from an old Scrapbook Generation Super Sketch Club kit that I never got around to making the designated layouts for.  I've really been working on either making those layouts in advance, and having them ready, or using the paper for other things.  There is so much new stuff I "have" to have that I need to use up some of what I already own.  I'm sure you all can relate!
These papers happen to be from the Simple Stories 24/7 collection, and I love them.  If I could find the whole kit collection I'd but it!  The colors are the perfect combination of bold and subtle all at the same time.
So...for the left hand side of the page I used another of Laura's sketches, but you'll have to wait until next Friday to see that one :-)  Until then...Keep Scrapping!

Cool Kid Layout

I'm up today with another sketch reveal for ScrapMuch?.  I really loved this sketch right away, and got right to work...until I was time to embellish.  It took me just as long to embellish as everything else.  Here's the sketch:

And here is how I interpreted it:
I promise that the photo really isn't blurry, but the paper is so very light in color.  The collection is from My Mind's Eye called Boy Crazy.  I used the 12x12 paper and the 6x6. I also used the accompanying stamps.  The cool kid title is from Heidi Swapp and I colored it with an Avery Elle ink pad and them embossed it with clear powder from Ranger.  The bottle cap inside I made my with my epiphany craft machine...some ink splatters...washi and enamel dots complete the look.
Despite having some embellishing trouble I am really happy with how it came out.  I look forward to see your take on the sketch.  Until next time...Keep scrapping!

Scrap Friends Layout

I am so excited to be sharing my first layout for the ScrapMuch? design team.  Laura also has the best sketches, and I'm honored to be part of a team showing them off.  Here is the first sketch I was given to work with:
And here is my take:
The photos are from the first time I had the pleasure of meeting my scrappy friend Stacia for a painting part she organized...what fun!  I used Simple Stories 24/seven collection and some misc enamel dots.  I created the embellishment cluster in the top right using the epiphany craft machine and a flattened bottle cap...it looks so cool in person.
So tell me what you think of my take and I can't wait to see what you come up with.  Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Moving Mountains Layout

Time for another Lasting Memories reveal.  Out challenge this month is about vacations and this week we were challenged to use the prompt Mystic Mountains.  I was instantly stumped because we don't go anywhere with mountains.  After a little thought though I realized I had a collage photo of the trip my sister took to Israel last summer.  There was my vacation piece of the puzzle.  I incorporated the mountains pieces in my title as my sister is going to move mountains in her profession choice.
I used the color challenge at ScrapMuch? to help me with my color choices.  I used a pink, green and two shades of brown to meet the challenge with an older collection by Echo Park called Paradise Beach.  The Adventure title is by Heidi Swapp.  The sequins and wood heart are by Studio Calico.
So how does the Mystic Mountains Vacation challenge inspire you?  If you enter the challenge too please let me a link here so I can make sure to see!  Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Swimming Lessons Layout

I've had these pictures sitting on my desk for years, and finally found the perfect sketch to use to get them down.  The sketch is by Laura Whitaker for the ScrapMuch? challenge blog. She does the most awesome sketches.
Despite the fact that I love how this came out, it got off to a VERY rough start.  Ask my friend Stacia...I tried a million combination before I pulled out my Studio Calico kits and started digging around.  When it finally came together it went down super fast.
The papers and embellishments are all from various Studio Calico kits, and I got so into mixing and matching I couldn't even tell you which ones.  I know all of mine are a year old so it's all older collection stuff.
The stamps are from a 2013 Heidi Swapp set I recently picked up on clearance at Michael's.  I stamped with my Avery Elle Pigment Ink Pad in AquaMarine. I liked the tone on tone effect so that the stamping added something, but wasn't "in your face." so to speak.  I bought this ink pad on a whim, knowing pigment inks take longer to dry, and I'm very happy with it.  It stamps very nice/even and the color stays try to what's on the pad.  I'll definitely be looking for more.
The heart and wow triangles were transparencies in the kits, but I created the backgrounds for them with watercolors.  I've had my eye on this Artist Loft set and when it went 40% off at Michael's I picked it up.  Worked like a charm for this application, and I hope to try to incorporate it more often.
Well, I think that's enough description for now...are you bored yet :-)  Even though this isn't my normal style I'm just in love with how it came out!  Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Hush Layout

Wow - I'm here with a layout I did just for me...not for a team.  That feels awesome!  I really liked the inspiration from Stuck?! Sketches and ScrapMuch?.
The ScrapMuch? color challenge asked you to use four of the six colors.  I choose the two shades of aqua and grey for my papers, and the green is in the outfit our son is wearing.  I guess in this case his puppy was the perfect pillow for afternoon nap.
The paper, and stickers, are from the My Mind's Eye Sweetest Things: Bluebell collection.  I really love MME goodies.  I wish more was available locally.  The doily is a Tim Holtz on the dye die.  I had purchased a few doily's in the past and never seemed to have the right color.  With the die...problem solved.
So what do your think of the challenges and my interpretation?  I'd love to have your comments.  Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Guy Stuff Layout

Welcome to my second reveal for Lasting Memories. This go-round we were challenged to create a layout about a Life Lesson.
I pulled out my Carta Bella Boy Oh Boy goodies and the sketch from ScrapMuch? to get started.  I stuck really close to the sketch except for changing to use three photos instead of two.  I didn't have the correct red paper to mat my photos, but I had the perfect red washi tape.  I cut mats the size I needed and covered the edges with the tape...worked perfectly!
The life lesson that I choose to highlight was our son learning some "Guy Stuff."  My hubby had his tools out to do something around the house right around when our son turned one.  M went right over to the tools and started digging in the box and turning the handles...no one had to tell him it way guy stuff!
Sorry I've been so quiet lately, but we've been going through a kitchen re-do and the house looks like a bomb went off!  Leave me a comment if you want to see the new kitchen, and until next time...Keep Scrappin!
